According to the French website, the alleged image of iPad 5 or new iPad Mini shows a much thinner design of the front panel and the surrounding bezel than current version of iPad.
Still a rumor, but the pictures seem no surprised, and there are barely notable improvement in design but huge wins for a tablet: lighter, thinner, faster, and longer battery life.
If the new form factor is say 1.2 lb, 8 mm thick, maintains its 10 hr battery life targets, and has faster GPU and CPU, it’s a gigantic improvement in the usability of the device.
These touch the fundamentals of Apple’s device.
Faster UI (like lower Siri latency, faster app switching, etc) are also huge wins, but you can’t tell that from looking at a component.
People have too high expectations if they think that a product will have revolutionary features during an update.
There’s been only two revolutionary features we can think Apple have done in the past decade: directly manipulated touch UI and employing unibody construction in mass production settings.
WeI can’t think of any other revolutionary feature. Facebook sharing, maybe? Most everything has a predecessor. Hard to say what is really revolutionary.
At the end of Rohit Vidwans' talk, someone in the audience asked where he could buy one of those Intel phones.
Well, Vidwans conceded, you can't. Not in this country.
"The reason for that is the (cellular) carriers, they are not willing to carry Intel phones if they don't have LTE," he explained apologetically.
LTE is a fast, wireless technology that more than 100 million smartphone owners worldwide use to connect to the Internet. It's not new: Apple added it to the iPhone last fall, and other U.S. smartphones had it more than a year before that.
At Intel, though, it's still a coming attraction. Which says a lot about why the world's largest chipmaker is having such a hard time making headway in mobile technology.
Though Intel makes powerful microprocessors and dominates the PC market, cellular technology has always confounded it. Again and again, the company has invested billions of dollars in mobile initiatives that came to naught.

I meant as in you've charged it so much over however many years and it won't hold a charge anymore. I didn't know you have to take it in to have them replace it. I need to learn how to do it myself somehow. Ugh... apple...I hate to love it so much.
If your iPad battery stops charging or in Apple’s words “battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge”, Apple will replace the iPad for a service fee of $99 plus $6.95 for shipping. So the total cost will be $105.95 per unit.
I am going to college and am debating between buying an iPad or a netbook. It would be used primarily for taking notes during lectures. My friend is trying to convince me to buy and iPad because the battery life is longer, and I can buy a wireless keyboard.
Well that is a hard question. A iPad has a notes app, but then you can pay $10 for apple's pages app. On that you can organize your documents in folders and you can format your text. A iPad would have a longer battery life. You would also have more fun
The ipad is one of the few gadgets that has won immense popularity in a very short span of time. It is a compact device that serves the immediate purposes of a laptop and phone combined. The uses of an ipad are wide and extensive and everyone from a 6 year old to a 60 year old enjoys using one.
You can surf the internet, check your email, watch movies, read books, listen to music and play games on the ipad. By far, the most popular activity on the ipad is playing games. The entire experience of playing games on the ipad is different. It is fast, polished, exciting and clear. The only drawback of playing games is that it takes a toll on the battery life of your device.
Even when you charge your ipad for long hours, you will see that sometimes the battery does not last long. Many a times, customers think that the device is defective and try to get it exchanged. While this certainly may be the case in some situations, in most cases it is simply a question of over use and overcharging.
If using your ipad a lot is not negotiable, then you need to learn how to conserve the battery so that it doesn’t shut down in urgent times. You can buy an ipad battery extender to make sure that the battery lasts all through.
