Review: Seven iPad stands for on-the-go use

Maximo’s $50 iU-AS1 iUp Anodized Aluminum Stand  (3.5 of 5 rating) is constructed of brushed aluminum with nonskid silicone feet and protective silicone cushioning everywhere the iPad comes in contact with the stand. The iUp works with any iPad model, bare or in a slim case, and in landscape or portrait orientation. The iUp feels quite sturdy, and I was able to tap and type on the screen without fear of it toppling over.

The stand consists of two pieces that you can assemble in two different ways to get different angles: roughly 45 degrees or a more-upright 60 degrees. The former is comfortable for on-screen typing, while the latter is good for video-watching or working with an external keyboard .

All of the iPad’s ports and buttons are accessible while you’re using the iUp; a cutout at the bottom lets you charge and sync your iPad even in portrait orientation. At just 11.7 ounces, the iUp is lightweight, and, when disassembled, its two pieces nest together to take up less space in your bag.

The iUp comes with a thin pouch that fits both the stand and an iPad, but the pouch looks and feels cheap. The company also offers, as a separate purchase, an adapter for car and wall mounting.

Duchess Case iPad mini Case review

Duchess Case bags are handmade in their workshop located in Jaffa.  They say “we take care in every single stage in research, design, cutting, sewing, packing & shipping of our handmade products”, and it shows.  The bag I received is beautifully made, without a single loose thread in sight.  The hardware is shiny and clean and works smoothly.

The bag measures 9.6″ wide X 7.25″ tall X 1.2″ thick at the biggest points.  It weighs 6 ounces on my digital kitchen scale.  Although it has “iPad mini” in the name, Duchess says the bag will also work with ”Galaxy Tab 2 7.0″, Nexus 7, Kindle, Kindle Keyboard 3G, Kindle Fire/HD, and other 7″ tablets.”

At the time I was selected, the iPad mini case was only available in the black fabric with goldtone metal you see here.  They have other colors available now, and you get to select goldtone or nickel hardware, too.  The information on the Duchess website says the black bag has a cotton exterior, but the fabric has a high sheen, and I would have guessed it was a synthetic fiber.  The fabric has a “brick paver” texture to it, with little, rectangular areas of smooth fibers, rather like floaters in a satin fabric.  It almost looks like the bag design has been embroidered on.

Guy sells bag of potatoes for £200, telling customer it's an iPad After leaving the scene, the buyer discovered he had been sold a bag of potatoes (because why would you ever buy an iPad off a guy on the street and check what's in the bag before parting ways?). Amazon Kindle Fire: What the web is saying A mixed bag of impressions round out the reviews, which isn't surprising because of the varying use cases for Amazon's 7-inch Android tablet. What is the best travel bag for the iPad?

Right now I use the apple case for the ipad and would like a protective bag when traveling with the iPad. One that will fit an iPad with the apple case. I'd also like to have some storage for cords, accessories, etc.

I would recommend you get ipad accessories from this seller because i've had previous transactions with the seller and worked out well

Camera/Ipad Bag Suggestions | Asia Forum | Fodor's Travel Talk ...

I have looked at 100+ bags and can't decide on WHAT I need to carry my camera + lens + ipad + water bottle + wallet while on daily excursions during a two week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. I was leaning toward a backpack but am wondering if that's secure enough (yes, I've read about the pick-pockets). Large messenger-style bags look like they'd be less comfortable to carry. Tips? Hints? Do I need to spend extra to buy a reinforced "safety" pack?

Big enough for netbook, phone camera and guidebook/magazines etc plus you can put water bottles or a fold up umbrella in outer side pockets so not opening it up all the time. However small and tidy enough to take into restaurants etc without feeling you have your rucksack with you. Before I got it I had been concerned that all the mesh security features might make it heavy but this is not a problem at all. They also do a security wallet that I attach to a clip inside and I am ready for anywhere. I just wear it over my shoulder and felt entirely secure everywhere we went in Vietnam and Cambodia but the strap is long enough to wear across your body if you were somewhere where you wanted to be double sure.

I have a DLSR with lenses and I don't use a specialist camera bag. I just throw everything in my un-padded eagle creek bag and it does fine. You will have the camera out of the bag more than in. I recently replaced my old bag with the Pacsafe 300 backpack, although I haven't used it yet. I like the idea of a back pack for my next trip since I will be moving a lot and need to take my valuables with me. I recently purchases some neoprene sleeves for my camera and second lens. They seem to work if you are worried, but I have a feeling they will be swimming around in my bag with everything else! My best advice is to get something that is comfortable to carry.

About this book
I'm the first to admit that the Apple iPad is one sweet device with its touch screen, multi-finger gestures, motion sensors and tons of iOS 4.x applications and capabilities. Whether you're using it as a gaming device, as a portable film and TV viewer, or are doing more serious work on the device, I know you've already hit a stumbling block or two because as much as it's a great gizmo, it's also confusing and poorly documented. That's why this ebook, The Ask Dave Taylor Apple iPad Answer Guide, is a smart purchase. It's a compilation of the dozens and dozens of common questions I've received from iPad owners just like you, each paired with a simple answer that features screen shots and exact -- tested! -- step-by-step directions.
